Subject: Corruption in The Bahamas Police Force - AMAZING!!!! June 14, 2006 Mr. Paul Farqhuarson Commissioner of Police Royal Bahamas Police Force Nassau, Bahamas Our dearest and most esteemed Commissioner, RE: The Diabolical Superintendent George Mortimer. We represent a cross section of officers who work in the North-Eastern Division of the Police Force, under the supervision of Superintendent George Mortimer. Sir, Mr. Mortimer represents the very worse of the RBPF. He is involved in systemic and ongoing corruption - openly advertising and promoting extortion of any number of legal and illegitimate business concerns within his district. Further, he is known to make open files disappear for the right price, thwarting the attempts of citizens to receive the justice they deserve. Mr. Mortimer's principal means of corruption is his vast extortion racket. He is known as the "tax collector" among the merchants of the district. We estimate his weekly earnings from extortion to be near $6,000. Further, he boldly approaches the merchants - demanding pay for "protection". We cannot begin to imagine how his behavior undermines the credibility of the Force that you and others have worked so diligently to cultivate. Below are some examples of the persons and businesses that Mr. Mortimer extorts on a regular basis. Mr. Wade Wallace of Michelles (Boxies); He has a web-shop presence in his business. Mr. Wallace has complained that he "has to hide" from Mr. Mortimor, so excessive are his extortion requests. Don Brown from Mel-Don Plaza. Mr. Brown is running an illegal mini-casino in the plaza replete with a variety of table games. He is expected to pay $1500 per week for "protection". Mr. Flowers. He runs a web-shop. Allen Fritz from Mr. T's. He is another $1500 per week player. He has a web-shop presence in his business AND he deals with a number of sport pools gambling networks; T-Macs; Cliso. Mr. Mortimor showed up at the business and demanded $900, refusing to leave unless he got paid; Cotton Tree Liquor; Mr. Sean Kemp of "Shut up and Shake" and Fantasy Strip Club. Mr. Kemp has a "web-shop" presence and operates a brothel at the Strip Club. Mr. Pete Deveaux from Percy's Webshop. Mr. Mortimor from AID. Mr. Wong from Wongs Plaza. Mr. Stano from Asa H. Pritchard. Mr. Victor Darville from Darville's Liquor Store. Mr. Cartwright from Esso. Mr. Ellis from Best Buy Food Store. In exchange for extortion payment, Mr. Mortimor offers Mr. Ellis a personal escort in Police Car to lodge his daily earnings at the bank. The gentleman known informally as Olves Fu-Manchu of Haiti Tours Mr. Watson from Watson's Construction. Mr. Archer from JBR.. Additionally sir, Mr. Mortimer has on a regular basis - and for the right price - made files disappeared, when these files were critical to ongoing investigations being done by the Police. We invite you to request Mr. Mortimer to comment on and locate these files. We are certain that the families of the victims in these cases would only be too happy to discuss these issues with you and your investigation team to demonstrate that these are very real matters. Below are some of the cases: Leanardo Remy, Security at Marathon Mall. This gentleman was beaten bad and taken to hospital. His file disappeared and nothing was done with the case. The son of the owner of Russell's Department store was arrested. Mr. Mortimor was paid the sum of $1500 to make the matter go away. Some $49,000 was stolen from exhibit money on a particular case. The money was shared up between Mr. Mortimer and one Inspector Miller. Pension Retirement Fund. Son of Bill Allen, former Minister, was arrested. The suspect indicated that some $10,000 was paid to Mr. Mortimer for a "retirement pension fund". His file also disappeared. With the proceeds of his ill-gotten gain, Mr. Mortimor is constructing an apartment complex on Hanna Road - his alleged sweetheart is fronting this project. He is also building a house in Long Island. Mr. Commissioner, our intent is not to bring shame to the RBPF. We want what you want - which is a Police Force that is a beacon of integrity and free from the kinds of characters that bring discredit to what the vast majority of well meaning officers are seeking to achieve. We understand now that Mr. Mortimer is "protected" by senior members of the Force - to whom he also shares his illegal proceeds. It is for this reason why, despite some complaints from merchants in the area - he has not been moved from his post. We will be watching carefully to see how quickly this matter is investigated and resolved. We are prepared to make this matter public in the interest of the nation if it is not addressed promptly. Let us cast an open and objective light on Mr. Mortimor. We know the truth and we know that the truth will bear our information out. We remain sir, your eager and able servants. Sincerely, Loyal Officers of the North Eastern District of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
